As announced in Spring 2021, NSERC is hard at work developing a new strategic plan that will guide our efforts over the next decade. We are now in phase 2 of our process and will engage with external stakeholders on key topics relevant to the future of natural sciences and engineering research funding in Canada. To encourage feedback and advice, we will soon publish a series of discussion papers on our NSERC 2030 web page. We invite you to review these papers when they go live and use the comment form to share your ideas and advice with us.

The Applied Research and Technology Partnership (ARTP) grants will allow colleges, CEGEPs and polytechnics to help Canadian enterprises seize new opportunities by applying innovative research and development for useful new products and services.
NSERC Alliance grant applications involving private sector partners must apply the new guidelines as of July 12, 2021.
New postdoctoral fellows of NSERC and SSHRC will be paid through their eligible Canadian host institutions as part of tri-agency efforts to harmonize payment processes across our funding opportunities, and in consideration of ongoing feedback from the postdoctoral community.
As of competition year 2022, NSERC’s Discovery Accelerator Supplements (DAS) program is suspended until further notice. Although no new DAS awards will be made, ongoing awards will continue to be honored.
